Girls, you know you better…watch out… This weeks track is ‘Doo Wop (That Thing)’ by Lauryn Hill, from her 1998 debut solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. This album is one of my favourites of all time, it was … Continue reading

Throwback Thursday…Track 18

My favourite Paolo Nutini song ‘Jenny Don’t Be Hasty’ is this weeks throwback track, from back in 2006.  This guy was just 18 when he released his first album, These Streets, and I loved the rhythm, lyrics and overall vibe of this song, which led to me playing it over and over again.

And 9 years later, I still know all the words! Ha, what a loser. Anyway, I don’t care, it’s a great track and the kind of song that you wish someone had written about you. Or maybe I just have a thing for younger men…

Throwback Thursday…Track 16

This week’s track is ‘Bandages’ by Hot Hot Heat – a belting tune, for no other reson than it appeared on my Timehop app today as I attended a first aid course two years ago.
Speaking of Timehop,  if you haven’t,  got it, get it, its hilarious trying to decipher your mysterious tweets an Facebook status updates from eons ago.

Throwback Thursday…Track 15

When my husband and I got back in touch after something like 15 years apart, we began by just talking by phone as mates. He went to see Arctic Monkeys and I remember him calling me when I was with my parents and I jumped up to run upstairs to talk to him for the first time by phone, all in a fluster as I obviously had a little crush on him already.
Turns out, he didn’t want to talk, he just wanted to play this song to me. I realised then that he might just feel the same way! Now, if ever we are out and this song comes on, we dance to it together – it’s very rare to see Gary on a dance floor unless it’s in Snobs nightclub.

Enjoy, Clare xx
