Throwback Thursday…Track 21

The_Defamation_Of_Strickland_Banks

This weeks track is ‘The Recluse’ by Plan B. His album The Defamation of Strickland Banks from 2010, was a departure from his usual style of rap hip hop, showcasing his singing ability and an adoption of a soulful r’n’b style.  The album as a body of work told the tale of a successful man brought down in his prime and spending time in prison.

This song in particular stood out for me because of the strings coursing throughout the track. Man, I love me some strings. The rise and fall, the intensity and the persistence of them throughout the song aid in the telling of his tale. Have a listen, and let me know what you think.

Enjoy,
