Fave Five outfits from this years awards: Amy Adams in Versace, Allison Williams in Armani Prive, Emily Blunt in Michael Kors, Emma Stone in Lanvin and Julianne Moore in Givenchy Couture.
Amy sings Hollywood Starlet, Allison and this dress are a match made in heaven, Emily’s beatiful colouring and simple updo make the dress shine, Emma is flawless in unconventional trousers and Juilanne shimmers like a Goddess in this stunning Givenchy.
Honourable mentions go to: Diane Kruger in Emilia Wickstead, Jessica Chastain in Atelier Versace, Katie Holmes in Marchesa, Reese Witherspoon in Calvin Klein and Salma Hayek in Alexander McQueen. I wouldn’t expect anything less from these ladies.
Now for the Not Greats – sorry ladies, but these outfits just aren’t up to scratch! Poor hemlines, drab colours and shapes and ill fitting bodices – these mistakes have all been made before! Suprising from Keira and Kerry too.
These ladies must try harder in the future too, Anna Faris looks drab, Claire Danes just doesn’t have enough vibrance to pull this dress off, the tea-length dress on Tina is just wrong, Lupita misses the mark on her usual flawless style with her hair & make up letting the outfit down and the colour, style and hair are all way off the mark on Michelle Monaghan.
This years colour block trend was Yellow with Leslie Mann in Kaufmanfranco, Naomi Watts in Gucci, Jenna Dewan Tatum in Carolina Herrera and Taylor Swift (after party) in Jenny Packham. Beautiful colour shown in elegant form from these ladies.
There are a couple that I just can’t make my mind up on:
Felicity Jones in Christian Dior. I love the fabric and the colour, and maybe it’s just her pose in this shot but she looks like a doll, and not in a good way! As for the neckline…..errrr……
Rosamund Pike in Vera Wang – great colour, great length, great fabric, but it looks like it could do with being hoisted up her body another inch or so! Not flattering around the boobs. Her hair and make up look lovely, though.
Dakota Johnson in Chanel Couture – the dress is fab-u-lous, make no mistake, but she looks like a rabbit in the headlights! She has nowhere near enough confidence to pull this look off and the hair is not Red Carpet standard.
Same old – same old goes to these pair:
We’ve seen these looks from the two Kate’s time and time again, and while they are beautiful, I’d really like to see something new from them for the next Red Carpet event.
